Devlin is a young man who “seems to have a nice, natural balance on things.” He appreciates art, loves music, has enjoyed taking piano lessons, and crochets. Orderly and thoughtful, Devlin is learning to enjoy words and to explore the importance of them; he plays with sarcasm and likes irony. In true Alaskan form, Devlin enjoys getting outdoors for hiking, 4-wheeling, biking, or sledding. He’s also happy to play soccer and other team games. Devlin’s experience helping at a food bank has turned him on to the idea of service-oriented activities where he can help others. He was previously part of a Christian church youth group and welcomes the opportunity to be part of one in the future.
Devlin sees college in his future and it’s important to him to have the support of a family that is not only generous and affectionate, but also provides structure and advocacy that will allow him to be successful in school. A family in or near Anchorage that will support the close relationship Devlin has with his grandmother would be ideal. Devlin believes he will thrive in a smaller family that enjoys being active in the outdoors, and where he is the youngest or near the youngest child. He would love to have a brother!
